Sitabani Forest Zone
The Sitabani forest zone is the reserve forest zone located outside the Corbett Tiger reserve area. The zone is treated as the Buffer area of the tiger reserve and is open for everyone visiting here. The landscape of this zone has a rich natural view .
Durgadevi Safari Zone
With its hilly landscape, the Durga Devi zone is a paradise for nature lovers, offering enchanting surroundings. Located on the northeast periphery of Corbett forest, the zone is rich in diverse flora and faun.
Garjia Safari Zone

Dhikala forest lodge
Dhikala Forest Lodge is the most popular and largest forest accommodation inside Jim Corbett National Park, located in the heart of the Dhikala zone near the Ramganga Reservoir. It is known for its panoramic views, rich wildlife including elephants, tigers, deer, and hundreds of bird species. The lodge offers basic but comfortable rooms and dormitories, making it ideal for nature lovers and wildlife photographers. Staying at Dhikala offers the best chance to experience the true wilderness of Corbett, especially through canter safaris and guided tours deep into the core zone.
Bijrani Forest Lodge
Bijrani Forest Lodge, located close to Ramnagar, is famous for its lush Sal forests and scenic landscapes. The Bijrani zone is one of the most tiger-rich areas, and the forest rest house here provides a peaceful stay amidst the wild. The lodge has limited rooms but offers an excellent chance for jeep safaris in areas with high chances of tiger sightings. Bijrani is accessible and a preferred choice for travelers looking for short wildlife trips with good accommodation and jungle exploration.
Jhirna Forest Lodge
Jhirna Forest Lodge is situated in the southern part of the park and is open year-round, making it one of the most accessible zones. It’s known for its dry deciduous forests and sightings of sloth bears, leopards, elephants, and a variety of birdlife. The forest lodge in Jhirna is basic in terms of amenities but provides a raw jungle experience. Safari lovers and adventurers prefer this zone for its tranquil atmosphere and offbeat charm.
Gairal Forest Lodge
Nestled deep inside the Dhikala zone of Corbett, Gairal FRH sits on the scenic banks of the crystal-clear Ramganga River. Just 13 km from Dhangarhi gate and 40 km from Ramnagar, this forest rest house is a serene escape surrounded by wilderness. 3. Is the Dhikala zone open all year?
No. Dhikala remains open from 15th November to 15th June only. It remains closed during the monsoon season for safety reasons.
4. What is the best time to visit Jim Corbett?
The best time is November to June, especially for the Dhikala zone. However, Jhirna and Dhela zones remain open year-round.
5. How far in advance should I book my safari?
We recommend booking at least 30 to 45 days in advance, especially for Dhikala night stays, as permits get sold out quickly.
